Supervision

Thesis supervision & mentoring.

I supervise bachelor's and master's theses at the intersection of UX research and applied AI — trust and explainability, human–AI interaction, emotion-aware design, ideation quality with generative models, and AI in marketing. Empirical work is welcome; so is a well-argued conceptual piece.

What you can expect. Drafts read properly and answered in writing. A clear methodological line agreed early rather than discovered late. And an honest read on whether a research question will actually carry a thesis — better to hear that in week two than in month five.

What I expect. A topic you can defend, a willingness to keep sharpening the research question, and drafts that arrive with enough lead time to be worth commenting on.

How to start. Send a one-page outline: working title, research question, why it matters, and roughly how you would approach the method. If the idea is still forming, a paragraph is enough — I would rather see it early and rough than late and polished.

I take on a limited number of theses each semester alongside teaching at TH Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm and OTH Regensburg, so early enquiries have the best chance of a slot.
